PENIEL CHILDREN HOME DONATION POLICY
1. Introduction
Peniel Children Home is committed to supporting the welfare of orphaned and vulnerable
children and providing them with resources they need to thrive. To help achieve this mission, we
accept donations in various forms, including financial contributions, goods and services. This
policy outlines our guidelines for accepting, managing and using donations to ensure transparency
and accountability.
2. Types of Donations accepted.
We welcome donations in the following categories
- Monetary Donations: Cash, checks, online transfers, or other financial contributions.
- In Kind Donations: Goods such as clothing, food, educational materials, toys and sports equipment.
- Volunteering Services: Non-financial contributions, such as time, expertise, or professional services.
- Fundraising Contributions: Donations collected through third party events, online fundraisers, or corporate partnerships.
3. Donation Process
- Monetary Donations
- Donations can be made via (bank transfers, DPO, credit cards, etc.)
- Donors will receive a receipt for tax purposes as applicable.
- In kind Donations
- Donors should contact (orphanage contact person) prior to making in-kind donations to ensure items are needed and appropriate.
- All donated goods will be reviewed for sustainability, quality and safety.
- Volunteering
- Individuals or groups wishing to volunteer should fill out a volunteer application form, and the orphanage will review and approve applications.
4. Use of Donations
- Monetary Donations:
- Donations will be used for operational costs, including food, clothing, education, medical care, and recreational activities for the children.
- We will allocate donations to specific projects or needs as agreed upon with the donor, if applicable.
- In Kind Donations:
- Donated items will be used directly for the children or the orphanage’s day-to-day operations. In cases where items are not needed, they will be sold or repurchased to support the orphanage’s activities
5. Donor Recognition
- We acknowledge and appreciate the generosity of our donors. A thank you letter or certificate of appreciation will be sent to each donor.
- Donor names (unless requested otherwise) may be published in our annual reports or other promotional materials.
6. Financial Transparency:
- We are committed to the transparent use of all donations. A portion of our annual budget will be dedicated to an independent audit, ensuring financial integrity and that donations are spent in alignment with our mission.
- A detailed report of donations and expenditures will be made available to donors upon request.
